We are a small, independent local charity, offering a programme of practical support and equipment to address the challenges of sight loss.
The heart of our work is promoting the well-being and independence of blind & partially sighted people in Bury and surrounding areas.
We rely solely on grants, donations and local fundraising to maintain these services.

Love at First Serve – A Valentine Showdown Fair

Join us for Love at First Serve, a free Valentine-themed community fair at Bury Blind Society, running from 11am to 3pm on Saturday 14th February.
The event will showcase Showdown, an exciting and fully inclusive sport played by visually impaired and sighted people together. As all players wear blindfolds, everyone competes on an equal footing — no previous experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to have a go.
Alongside Showdown demonstrations and taster sessions, visitors can enjoy:
  • A book sale
  • Craft table
  • Homemade cakes
  • Hot drinks
This relaxed and welcoming event is open to everyone and aims to raise funds and awareness for Bury Blind Society while encouraging more people from the local community to discover Showdown.
