Bury Society for Blind & Partially Sighted People is a charitable organisation that provides a variety of services which aim to enhance the quality of life for all visually impaired people within the Metropolitan Borough of Bury.

We are a local charity offering equipment, information and support to visually impaired people in the Metropolitan Borough of Bury. This website gives an overview of what we offer at our Sight Loss Centre as well as up-to-date news and features.

  • Bury Grammar School - A talk on the remarkable life of BGS Old Boy William Appleby, the first cadet bugler and blind Lancashire Fusilier veteran of the Great War in aid of Bury Society for Blind and Partially Sighted People.  Thursday 15th June 2023, 2.00pm-3.15pm, Roger Kay Hall, Bury Grammar School.

Centre Update

The Centre is now fully operational and, apart from Monday afternoons, Tuesdays and Fridays, you are welcome to drop in any time for a cuppa between 10.00am and 4.00pm. There will always be a volunteer to 'Meet and Greet' you during these periods.  Other times, the Centre is open for booked sessions.
